The Leipzig fan block is known for its great atmosphere, but often sells out quickly. You also need your own fan pass to buy Red Bull tickets in Leipzig.
Sectors A and C are much more moderate. You will only find seats in the two main stands, and there is also a strict smoking ban in sector 38. We generally recommend tickets for the lower rows in the upper tier, as these are slightly cheaper than the lower tier itself. However, you will have the same view of the action in the Red Bull Arena.
The guest area in the Central Stadium is located in the curve between Sector C and Sector D. Depending on demand, the upper tier is also opened up for away fans in addition to the lower tier.
Incidentally, there is no separate family block in the stadium, as the stands are quite cosy. This makes a visit to the Red Bull Arena the ideal leisure activity on a weekend.

Visitor information for the Red Bull Leipzig Stadium
The gates to the Zentralstadion in Leipzig will open two hours before kick-off and fans can make their way to their seats after going through admission control. RB Leipzig recommends arriving at the stadium early, as there will be extensive admission controls and you may miss kick-off if there is a large crowd.
Bags and rucksacks must not be larger than A4 size and you may only enter sectors B and D in RB fan clothing or neutral colours. The music hall, on the other hand, is much smaller and can only hold just under 140 guests. Things are much quieter here and you can socialise and talk shop during the match. You can then immerse yourself fully in the football action again in the best seats in the outdoor stand.
From the box view, you have an incredible bird’s eye view and can analyse the tactical action on the pitch. In the VIP area with space for 200 guests, things are pretty cosy again, but you can still enjoy a home match in the Red Bull Arena from a very special angle.
Interesting facts about the central stadium
Those who cannot identify with Red Bull’s philosophy in soccer still refer to the Red Bull Arena as the Central Stadium. This was the official name of the largest stadium in Saxony until 2010. Although the history of Red Bull Leipzig only began in 2010, the Zentralstadion was already demolished in 1998 and replaced by a modern arena.
Back then, the idea was to host the World Cup in 2006, but after the official opening in 2004, things quickly became quiet again in what is now the Red Bull Arena, as there was no professional team to play matches here. From 2004 to 2009, FC Sachsen Leipzig played in front of mostly empty stands.
Before the 2006 World Cup, the FIFA Confederations Cup was held in the central stadium, which also hosted Brazil, among others. RB Leipzig was founded in 2010 and the Zentralstadion was renamed the Red Bull Arena for 30 years. In the same year, the then regional league team moved to the World Cup stadium.
In 2015, the stadium was extensively remodelled, which meant that 2,000 seats had to make way for additional VIP areas and press rooms. In addition to the 2006 World Cup, the Red Bull Arena also hosted the 2024 European Championships.
How to get to the Zentralstadion in Leipzig

The Red Bull Arena is located directly on the Elster basin and relatively central in Leipzig. Due to its location in the city centre, however, there may be traffic restrictions on match days. There is no parking available in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, so the club recommends leaving your car at the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre and travelling from there by public transport.
If you are fit enough to walk, you can also make the journey from Leipzig Central Station on foot. You can reach the Red Bull Arena in around 35 minutes, alternatively you can take tram line 34 to the Sportforum Ost stop. Many other tram lines also stop at Sportforum Süd, allowing you to travel from the south or west of the city.
If you are travelling to Leipzig by plane especially for a match, you should first travel to the main train station. From there, you can reach the Red Bull Arena by tram or on foot.
