Arsenal Football Club, better known in Germany as Arsenal London or FC Arsenal, became one of the top clubs in English football under Arsène Wenger. The Gunners’ last championship also came during the Wenger era. Now, a few years after Wenger’s departure, Arsenal FC seems to have regained its former strength and is showing title ambitions in the Premier League.
They almost made it in the 2022/2023 season, but in the end only finished runners-up behind Manchester City. However, the London club is back at the top again for the new season. Anyone wanting to buy FC Arsenal tickets for Arsenal’s home games at the Emirates Stadium currently needs patience and luck, as is the case almost everywhere in the English top flight. But with a star-studded line-up, great football and an unrivalled stadium atmosphere, it pays off.

How to get Arsenal FC tickets in London?
Football matches in the Premier League are almost always sold out and tickets for Arsenal FC are also almost always sold out: The average attendance of 60,113 out of a total capacity at the Emirates Stadium of 60,704 speaks for itself. The majority of tickets are already going to season ticket holders and club members. Only very few day tickets are available for sale to non-members.
Interested parties can hope to be lucky, for example, if the match is against a smaller opponent such as Nottingham or Bournemouth during the week. The same applies to fixtures on Boxing Day (Christmas) or even New Year’s Day. Unlike in the Bundesliga, various Premier League matches also take place on these public holidays and experience shows that the rush for tickets is a little lower then.
Due to the shortage of available tickets for Arsenal London, the secondary market is a much-used option. On ticket exchanges such as Viagogo, numerous offers can be found for every match day, although prices can of course fluctuate and are heavily dependent on the respective opponent.
Finally, there are also so-called football holidays. With these, fans book a trip including hotel accommodation and a guaranteed ticket to a football match via travel providers such as Vietentours or Dertour. However, the higher the demand for the respective match, the higher the price for such football holidays.
How much does an Arsenal FC ticket cost?
London generally has the highest price level for Premier League tickets, with the league itself already having the highest ticket prices in the whole of Europe. Arsenal London is no exception. In fact, it has the most expensive season tickets in the entire league. However, this does not detract from the sales figures and the stadium atmosphere – especially as long as the Gunners continue to compete for the championship.
The most expensive day ticket at Arsenal costs 103 pounds, the equivalent of 118 euros, not including any surcharge for a top match. On the other hand, the price for the cheapest ticket is £28.50, or just under €33. These tickets are only available for a few small areas of the stadium and are almost always available to season ticket holders and members.
The largest contingents are priced somewhere in between. However, anyone assuming a ticket price on the secondary market should, of course, assume significantly higher costs. An extreme example: In the 2022/2023 season, shortly before the end of the season, when Arsenal FC was still in first place and the championship was within reach, a ticket to the final match (home game) was offered for almost 30,000 euros. The usual adverts on ticket exchanges with ticket prices of up to 300 euros are a bargain in comparison.
Tickets for Arsenal away matches as an option
A special feature in view of the otherwise high cost of tickets for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester city and co. is the limited price for away tickets. In the Premier League, a guest ticket may cost a maximum of 30 pounds, the equivalent of around 34 euros – regardless of the club and match in question.
Nevertheless, these tickets are of course only available to season ticket holders and members at almost all clubs. However, away tickets only very rarely end up on the secondary market, in which case there is logically no price limit.
When can you buy FC Arsenal tickets?
As one of the few top clubs in the Premier League, Arsenal FC sell tickets on a staggered basis, as is customary in the Bundesliga, for example. This means that pre-sales for individual matches start 4 to 6 weeks before a match date, whereby the club first waits for the fixture list to be finalised by the league management.
In the pre-sale itself, only season ticket holders and members are entitled to tickets, whereby even members are usually not guaranteed tickets but rather have a chance of getting them before a game is sold out. If the remaining day tickets actually go on sale, this takes place 1 to 2 weeks before the date of the match.
According to these ticket sales phases, the offers on Viagogo and Co. can also be found from 6 weeks before a match, depending on whether and when season ticket holders and members decide to sell their tickets.
Arsenal tickets from ticket exchanges – the secondary market
On the one hand, the financial aspect and, on the other, the sometimes short-term changes to the Premier League fixture listings lead to numerous adverts on ticket portals as well as in social media, classified ads and on eBay. Firstly, it is important for buyers to realise that buying tickets on the secondary market is absolutely legal. For your own safety, however, there are certain points to bear in mind:
- Ticket prices are mainly determined by the (private) sellers and are also dependent on general demand.
- Arsenal FC tickets in the Premier League are always available digitally, so there is no need for postal delivery and shipping costs.
- Paypal and similar payment methods prevent fraud, while bank transfers are a risk – this applies in particular to transactions via eBay, classified ads or social media.
- The exact seats should be indicated on the tickets.
- Before purchasing, you should check the current fixture list and the match date stated on the ticket.
- Personalised tickets may require a transfer of personal data.
Are football tickets at Arsenal London FC personalised?
Tickets in professional football are increasingly being personalised, with clubs wanting to restrict the private resale of tickets. This is also usually the case in the Premier League and at Arsenal London. However, Arsenal FC also offers data transfer, which must be arranged by the ticket holder.
Apart from this, however, experience has shown that a ticket with someone else’s name rarely leads to problems. There are no reports of any checks or refusals of admission at the Emirates Stadium or elsewhere in the Premier League. For away tickets, however, buyers should ideally ensure that the personal details match correctly, as admission to guest blocks may give rise to checks.
Football trips to Arsenal FC
London is, of course, a popular destination for holidays and city breaks. In connection with this, football trips to London clubs are very much in vogue and are widely advertised. Interested football fans are tempted by the promise of a guaranteed football ticket for a specific match in the Premier League (or other competitions).
They inevitably also book the hotel accommodation offered by the tour operator and sometimes even the journey to and from the match, paying a mid-three to four-figure sum for the football trip. The extent to which this is good value for money is, of course, subjective. It is important to consider whether the exact seat in the stadium is visible with such an offer, how reasonable the hotel accommodation is and other factors. After all, you may find better seats, better prices, a hotel closer to the Emirates Stadium, etc. on ticket exchanges.
Ultimately, even Vietentours, Dertour and similar providers can only offer football holidays with tickets for Arsenal FC matches if the club’s available contingent allows it.
Unforgettable moments: Arsenal FC in the FA Cup
With 14 titles, Arsenal FC is the sole record winner of the FA Cup. No other team has won the title so often. The last major triumph came in the 2019/20 season. For many fans, the FA Cup is something very special. After all, Arsenal also celebrated three new titles between 2014 and 2017. The hope is therefore high every year that the boys on the pitch can win another trophy.
Unfortunately, Arsenal were knocked out of the competition early this season. A defeat against Liverpool put an end to their title dreams. Nevertheless, the whole club is already looking forward to next year, when things will heat up again in the FA Cup. Then, of course, you too will have the chance to secure FC Arsenal tickets and be there live at the Emirates Stadium.
Success, records and passion: Arsenal in Europe
Arsenal have yet to achieve major success in international football. The Gunners have yet to win either the Champions League or the Europa League. Their only notable success was the European Cup Winners’ Cup title in the 1993/94 season, while Arsenal also reached the final of the Champions League around 20 years ago.
Since then, hopes have naturally been high that a first title will soon follow. In fact, the chances are currently better than they have been for a long time. Because under Mikel Arteta, a sought-after team with many stars has grown up. If you want to get to know the Emirates Stadium at its best, a trip to London during the Champions League matches is highly recommended.
Travelling to the Emirates Stadium
Around 60,000 fans can be accommodated in the fourth largest stadium in the English Premier League. Arsenal have played their home games here since 2006. The stadium also goes by the unofficial name Ashburton Grove among local fans.
When travelling to the Emirates Stadium, you should note the following information:
Travelling by car: Travelling by car is not recommended. You will need your own pass, which must be applied for in advance. This is generally not worthwhile for occasional visitors.
Travelling by public transport: The easiest way to get to the stadium is to take the Piccadilly underground line. From the Holloway Road and Arsenal stops, it is only around 200 metres to the Emirates Stadium. Drayton Park station is also close to the stadium. You can then cross the Danny Fiszman Bridge to get to the entrances.
Travelling from the airport: The Piccadilly underground line runs directly from Heathrow Airport to the Emirates Stadium. You don’t need to change trains.
