Tickets from €23

Hertha Berliner Sport-Club e.V., or Hertha BSC for short, may now be in the second Bundesliga. Nevertheless, Hertha remains the biggest club in the capital and cultivates its image as a “big city club” accordingly. The long-term goal is therefore clear: a return to the top flight of German football.

These ambitions are certainly justified, considering that the Old Lady plays its home games in Berlin’s time-honoured Olympic Stadium. They have already celebrated two championships there, many DFB Cup and European Cup ties as well as Champions League matches. But even today, in the second division, tickets for Hertha BSC are always in demand.

Tickets for Hertha BSC home matches

Despite the fact that the club has had more setbacks than successes in recent times, the club enjoys a loyal following. Even in the 2022/2023 relegation season, an average of over 53,000 spectators attended Hertha BSC’s home matches and cheered on their team. On the first matchday of the second Bundesliga in the following season, it was over 40,000.

So the 74,475-seat Olympiastadion is likely to be packed again when Hertha return to winning ways. However, the best seats are always filled quickly. Hertha BSC fans who want to experience the fantastic atmosphere in Germany’s third-largest stadium with the best view will have to be quick or have a bit of luck. This is especially true for top matches such as against Schalke or HSV.

Tickets for Hertha’s away matches

Especially in the battle in the second division and for promotion, Hertha also relies on the support of its fans on the road. For them, away trips are always a special experience anyway, as most of the most loyal and loudest supporters are there.

However, away games also offer a good opportunity for casual fans throughout Germany to enjoy a stadium experience. Last but not least, depending on the opponent, Hertha BSC away tickets are sometimes available at particularly favourable prices, for example against smaller clubs such as Magdeburg or Elversberg, although the contingent is of course limited.

How do you get Hertha BSC tickets?

Hertha BSC tickets can be purchased on the primary market either in the online shop on the club’s website, in a fan shop in Berlin or via the ticket hotline. When purchasing tickets online, you must first register and create a HerthaID. Tickets booked in this way are generally sent as a mobile ticket or as a file by e-mail for printing.

The club also runs its own secondary market for tickets, the so-called Clubsale. This is where the resale of Hertha tickets takes place, which are also available for free sale if a season ticket is not used, for example. Sellers and buyers also need to register and have a HerthaID for the Clubsale.

Tickets for Hertha BSC on the secondary market

Although personalisation rarely leads to problems, anyone interested in Hertha tickets on the secondary market should still be careful. In particular, offers on eBay, classified adverts, Facebook or other social media channels often turn out to be fraudulent. In fact, the club can even block the tickets posted there if the necessary information (ticket number, barcode, etc.) is visible in pictures or offer descriptions.

Nevertheless, the purchase itself is by no means illegal and Hertha tickets on Viagogo, StubHub and other platforms can sometimes be used without any problems. It is important to pay attention to a few aspects:

  • Can the seller verify or guarantee the authenticity of the tickets?
  • Does the seller offer to rewrite the personalisation?
  • Is the price of the ticket on the secondary market roughly the same as on the primary market?
  • What (secure) payment options does the seller offer?
Dad, when was the last time Hertha won? No idea, I had to ask my grandad.

How much do tickets for Hertha BSC Berlin cost?

Although the pricing policy has logically been adjusted, the old lady still enjoys a relatively high level of prestige in the second division. Accordingly, Hertha BSC’s ticket prices are slightly above the league average. On the other hand, however, they are in line with the modern and atmospheric Olympic Stadium.

Apart from that, the prices for Hertha tickets are broadly diversified anyway. For example, a discounted season ticket costs €149 at its cheapest, while the most expensive full price is €749.

There are also many different categories for day tickets. Starting at 15 euros, there are seats far into the upper tier and even a few areas with restricted views are still under 20 euros. The popular Comfort Seats start at 45 euros and cost 60 euros in the most expensive category.

Of course, all these prices can vary by a certain amount depending on the opponent.

Are there discounts for Hertha BSC tickets?

Tickets for a Hertha BSC match are particularly cheap thanks to discounts. For example, members of the club generally pay 10 per cent less. The same applies to schoolchildren, students, pensioners and people with a disabled pass. Both discounts can add up to 20 per cent if necessary.

In addition, tickets for children up to the age of 13 cost 40 per cent less (50 per cent if the child is a club member). Infants up to the age of 5 are admitted free of charge. There is a so-called lap ticket, which must be requested by e-mail in addition to a normal ticket.

Hertha tickets for the family block

Finally, the family block in the Olympiastadion is worth mentioning. Under the motto Kids4Free, Hertha allows one adult full-payer to bring up to four children under the age of 14 free of charge. This family block is located in lower tier A and/or upper tier 1 and is accessible via a separate entrance.

Are Hertha BSC tickets personalised?

Anyone buying or wishing to buy a Hertha BSC ticket should note that all tickets are personalised. This means that the purchaser must enter the name in which the ticket is personalised when booking. This also applies when purchasing multiple tickets.

For example, anyone who buys a ticket via the secondary market and does not have it personalised (by the seller) can theoretically be denied entry at an inspection at the Olympic Stadium. However, it must be said that checks practically never occur.

When are Hertha BSC tickets sold?

Advance ticket sales for Hertha BSC’s home matches will start on 1 June for the entire season. Season ticket holders from the previous football year will receive their reservation for the current season first. Exclusive advance sales for club members have been possible since 21 June 2023. The purchasing rules are strict, and underage fans, for example, can only purchase tickets upon presentation of their membership card.

From 28 June 2023, you will also be able to buy various types of tickets without being a member. The same three sales phases apply to season tickets for all second-round matches. Day tickets for away matches must be booked with the respective host club. Only certain ticket quantities are made available for Hertha BSC fans.

On the secondary market, those responsible at the club ensure that you only receive serious offers and are therefore guaranteed a seat in the stadium. You will be informed by the club website as soon as an away pre-sale starts. If you would like to book seats for the away stadium, Hertha BSC will charge a ten per cent advance booking fee.

Tickets for Hertha BSC in the DFB Cup

At least one DFB Cup match takes place in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium every season – namely the final. Until then, however, Hertha are always fighting for the title of cup winner and would of course like to celebrate their victory in their home stadium.

If you want to buy a cup ticket for Hertha BSC, you can do so in the same way as for the other home games in the league. It should be noted that Hertha has nothing to do with ticket sales when two other clubs face each other in the final.
