Sturm Graz is one of the most popular teams in the whole of Austria. The Merkur Arena is regularly sold out. Whether it’s a top clash against other championship contenders, international appearances or battles against supposedly weaker teams – you can’t afford to miss a Sturm home game.

Where to buy Sturm Graz tickets?

When looking for tickets for an SK Sturm Graz match, there is usually no way around the club. If you take part in the official pre-sale, this is known as the first market. International matches, top duels against Salzburg and Rapid or home appearances in the ÖFB Cup usually sell out quickly. If you have not been able to get hold of tickets via the official route, it is worth taking a look at the secondary market. Tickets are resold by private individuals.

Sturm Graz tickets via the primary market

You can find Sturm Graz tickets directly from the club. All you have to do is go to the website of the team from Graz and click on the “Tickets” tab. You can then choose between different categories and secure tickets for home or away matches. The free sale usually starts a few days after the protected pre-sale. You can then have a ticket suggested to you via the best seat booking or select individual seats via the seating plan.

In addition to the online shop, you can also purchase tickets for upcoming matches in all Sturmshops. These are located in Graz and the surrounding area (Liebenau, Hans-Sachs-Gasse and Seiersberg). If you buy your ticket online, it will be sent to you by e-mail. You can then either print out your ticket or show it digitally on your smartphone.

To buy tickets for Sturm Graz home matches in the online shop, you need to create an account. This is not a membership of the club, but simply a free registration on the website. If there are still tickets available on the match day and the stadium is not sold out, you can also purchase a ticket directly at the stadium box office.

Sturm Graz tickets via the secondary market

Unlike other top clubs in the Austrian Bundesliga, SK Sturm Graz does not have an official secondary market. There is no ticket exchange operated by the club. On the secondary market, you will generally find tickets that have already been sold by the club. These are passed on by private individuals. So if someone can’t make it to the game after all, you still have the opportunity to get into the sold-out stadium.

As a general rule, you should only look for tickets on the secondary market if the primary market is already empty. This is especially true for SK Sturm Graz, as there is no official ticket exchange. You can use well-known third-party providers in Austria. Be sure to check the official selling price. Tickets on the secondary market are often sold at a slightly higher price. This means you have to dig deeper into your pocket and the other person earns some money. Such practices should never be supported.

In principle, you can also buy tickets directly at the stadium before the start of the match. But be careful here too. This is because counterfeit tickets are also offered on the secondary market. We have therefore summarised important points that you should definitely consider when buying tickets.

4 important points to bear in mind when buying tickets on the secondary market in Graz:

• Resale price: Tickets on the secondary market are often slightly more expensive. The reason for this? The sellers are trying to make real fans of SK Sturm Graz pay and earn some extra money for themselves. At top matches, it can happen that tickets cost twice or three times as much. In many cases, significantly more expensive tickets are not even genuine. This is because true fans would resell their tickets at the original price.
• Sales platform: As Sturm Graz does not offer a ticket exchange, you have to rely on third-party providers and private sales. Ticket sales via the secondary market are therefore not regulated. It is therefore important that you pay attention to a reputable sales platform. You should be particularly careful with adverts on social media. Fraud also occurs time and again when tickets are sold outside the stadium.
• Authenticity: To get into the stadium, you need a real ticket. It’s worth taking a closer look on the secondary market. It can happen that fake tickets are offered or that they are not dispatched after the payment process. Ideally, you should have a real ticket from previous home games to hand and can use this to compare.
• Ticket conditions: SK Sturm Graz personalises some tickets. This usually applies to top matches, international fixtures, cup ties and away tickets. In this case, you can only enter the stadium if your name is on the ticket. In such a case, you must request a re-personalisation if you buy tickets via the secondary market.

What tickets are available for Sturm Graz?

You can buy either a day ticket or a season ticket for SK Sturm Graz home matches. The day ticket is of particular interest to fans who only want to visit the stadium occasionally. However, you then run the risk that the top matches against Salzburg, Rapid Vienna or LASK are already sold out.

There are various alternatives for season tickets via the club’s ticket shop. You can not only purchase a season ticket for the 1st team. Tickets are also sold for the 2nd team, which currently plays in the 2nd Bundesliga. It’s worth taking a closer look here to make sure you don’t choose the wrong ticket.

In addition, you can only opt for an international season ticket if Sturm is represented in a European competition. You cannot currently buy season tickets for the current season. Incidentally, a season ticket is worthwhile if you want to attend at least 12 home matches in the Austrian Bundesliga live in the stadium.

How much do Sturm Graz tickets cost?

The pricing structure at SK Sturm Graz can be quite confusing at first glance. There are a total of eight price categories, depending on the sector. Tickets in the main stands are the most expensive at 37 euros. The cheapest tickets, on the other hand, cost just 19 euros. You can also take a seat in the sports bar for 89 euros. This is not yet the Bundesliga club’s VIP area.

There are also discounts on day tickets for certain groups of people. We have taken a closer look at the season tickets to see who benefits from this. The price of a season ticket depends primarily on the sector. The most expensive is a season ticket in Sector 4, where you have the best view of the action and sit directly under the press stands. The price for a season ticket is 479 euros. Sectors 2 to 6 and 16 to 18 are similarly expensive, with a season ticket costing €469 and €459 respectively.

In the curves of the Merkur Arena, on the other hand, a ticket costs between 319 and 399 euros, depending on the sector. The prices in the Sturm stand and the family sector are particularly attractive. A season ticket for the club’s die-hard fans costs €199. Here, however, you have to reckon with restrictions due to banners, pyrotechnics and banners.

In the family sector, a ticket costs 249 euros for adults and 99 euros for children. Things are particularly leisurely here. If you want to come to the stadium with the whole family or your child, sectors 23 and 24 are the right choice.

There are also discounts for young people up to the age of 18, apprentices, pupils and students up to the age of 26, pensioners and disabled people. Depending on the sector, there is a discount of over 90 euros. Children over the age of 3 also receive discounts. For the little ones, a season ticket costs between 119 and 287 euros.

When does Sturm Graz sell tickets?

Sturm Graz has a protected pre-sale for every home game. Black Members, Junior Members and Little Blackies can purchase one ticket per person. Whether it’s a top match in international competition or a home clash against relegation candidates. Members always get the chance to secure top seats first.

The free sale then usually starts two to three days later. You can secure your tickets in advance either online or in the Sturmshops already listed. Advance sales do not usually take place directly at the stadium box offices.

Are there VIP tickets for Sturm Graz matches?

If you want to watch SK Sturm Graz in an exclusive atmosphere, a VIP ticket is the right choice. In the Grawe Klub 1909, you can expect a cushioned seat with the best view and a reserved table in the restaurant. Delicious food and tasty drinks are served before, during and after the game. The VIP Club is of course also home to numerous former players, support staff and the club management. There is often time for a photo or personal autographs.

The day ticket for the VIP area is divided into two price categories. In category 1, a ticket costs 324 euros per person. Category 2 costs 300 euros per person. The season ticket is available for 3,850 euros per person. Incidentally, there are no remaining tickets for the current season.

VIP tickets cannot be purchased directly in the online shop or at the advance booking offices. Registration is required. This can either be done directly via a form on the website or by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. The club would like to point out that only a few day tickets are available. Ideally, your VIP experience should therefore be planned well in advance.

For an additional 149 euros, you can also upgrade your season ticket with a box upgrade. The boxes can only be rented on a seasonal basis and cost a total of 3,999 euros. This is primarily of interest to companies.

ÖFB Cup tickets for Sturm Graz

The fans of SK Sturm Graz were able to take the ÖFB Cup title to Graz last season. After 2010 and 2018, there was finally another title for the Blackies. This naturally creates a very special atmosphere, especially in the ÖFB Cup.

Sturm Graz tickets for people with disabilities

A ticket for wheelchair users including accompanying person costs 12 euros at Sturm Graz. The accompanying person does not have to pay admission if a corresponding note is made in the disabled pass. The wheelchair stands in the Merkur Arena are located in the east and west stands.

This guarantees people with physical disabilities a seat with the best view of the action. Season tickets can also be purchased by people with disabilities. These are discounted accordingly. Unfortunately, the North Curve and the VIP area in the stadium are not yet barrier-free.

Travelling to the Merkur Arena in Graz

With a capacity of over 16,000 spectators, the Merkur Arena in the south of Graz is one of the top five stadiums in the Austrian Bundesliga. In recent years, the arena has been the centre of attention outside of football. The city is planning multi-million euro expansions, while Sturm Graz would love to buy the arena.

If you are travelling by car, the A2 will take you to the Liebenauer Tangente and from there directly to the stadium. If you are travelling from Graz, you can reach the stadium via Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße and Münzgrabenstraße. The parking situation at the stadium is relatively good. You can park directly in the stadium underground car park or leave your vehicle at the Park & Ride facility at Murpark.

If you are spending a whole weekend in the capital of Styria for the match or live directly in Graz, we recommend travelling by public transport. Tram line 4 will take you directly to the Liebenau stadium. To do this, get off the tram at the stop Stadion Liebenau/Bertha von Suttner Platz. The tram also departs directly from the main railway station. From the airport, take the S5 railway line to the main station.
