Valencia Club de Fútbol, better known as Valencia FC, is one of the great traditional clubs in Spanish football. Although the clubs from Madrid and FC Barcelona fight it out for the championship almost every year, there are a few clubs that make the battle in the league exciting every year and attract thousands of fans to the stadiums.
In addition to Villareal FC and Sevilla FC, for example, there is also Valencia FC. Despite the fact that the “Blanquinegros” have been going through difficult times recently, there is still an average attendance of over 40,000 spectators per game at the time-honoured Estadio Mestalla. And not without good reason: a ticket for Valencia FC gives you entry to a stadium where the atmosphere could hardly be more fanatical.

Where can I buy Valencia FC tickets?
For fans from Germany, the first option is of course to buy tickets online. The first option is the official club website of Valencia FC. The language of the site can optionally be changed to English so that most foreign fans can quickly find their way around and use the online ticket shop. Tickets for all upcoming fixtures can be purchased there from the available allocation by first selecting the respective area in the stadium.
A large number of seats are usually already taken. Valencia FC recently sold almost 30,000 season tickets for the season, while the Estadio Mestalla has a capacity of 55,000. On top of this, the remaining available tickets are often sold out quickly, especially for popular matches, or only seats that offer a poorer view of the pitch remain.
A second option for those interested in buying tickets is on the secondary market. As Valencia FC does not accept return tickets, ticket holders often offer their tickets for sale on ticket exchanges. The Spanish Primera Division fixture list plays a particularly important role here – more on this later.
How much do Valencia FC tickets cost?
Anyone who is used to the prices of tickets in the Bundesliga will be amazed at the price level of the Primera Division in Spain. Prices in the three-digit range are not uncommon here. Even the cheapest offers do not fall below 20 euros and tend to be for lower quality seats in the football stadiums.
The situation is similar at Valencia FC. Tickets cost very differently here, depending on the opponent and ticket category. For example, the price for a seat in the top block behind one of the goals is between 25 and 30 euros. On the back straight, a ticket in the lower block costs 40 to 45 euros and in the main stand 65 to 75 euros. Mind you, these ticket prices are for a match against a smaller opponent such as FC Granada.
Against FC Barcelona, the cheapest ticket category just mentioned costs €85, while the more popular seats in the lower section of the main stand cost between €205 and €230.
Are there discounted tickets for Valencia FC?
As Spanish football stadiums almost exclusively offer seats, there are usually no cheaper standing tickets in the Primera Division, as is the case in Germany. Discounts on day tickets are also usually excluded. In fact, at most clubs, even children under the age of 6 only have access to the stadium with a regular full-price ticket.
Discounts are usually only available for season tickets. So if you want to save as much money as possible when buying a one-day ticket for a single match, you have to go for a match against one of the smaller clubs in the league. In particular, the promoted clubs and newcomers in a season are ideal for this. In addition, ticket prices tend to be somewhat lower for games that take place during the week.
When will Valencia FC tickets be available?
After the league organisers have decided the fixtures for the season, most clubs start selling tickets straight away. However, like many clubs, Valencia FC waits for the exact date of a particular match day. This means that as soon as the day of the week is fixed, the ticket shop is open.
The exception to this, however, are matches where a sold-out stadium is expected, for example against FC Barcelona or Real Madrid. In such cases, tickets are available right at the start of the season, even if the exact match date has not yet been finalised.
It is important to know that the Primera Division fixture list is by no means as fixed as in the Bundesliga. It is always pointed out that the exact time or even the day of the week of a match can still change up to 10 days before the date. It is therefore possible for a match to be postponed at short notice from Saturday to Monday, for example. The reason for such changes lies in the clubs’ participation in international competitions (and also the national cup).
Valencia FC tickets for football holidays
These more or less spontaneous changes to the match schedule are an important aspect, not least for so-called football tours. Football tours are all-inclusive travel packages in which organisers sell football tickets in combination with travel to and from the match, hotel accommodation and possibly other extras. In other words, you pay for a complete package that includes the ticket for Valencia FC.
Depending on the time of the offer, the fixture is also fixed or the travel booking is made before the season. Above all, however, the aforementioned fixture changes may mean that a fixture is postponed so that it takes place after the planned departure. Interested parties should therefore check carefully how such situations are handled.
It should also be noted that those football travel packages certainly pay for convenience. This means that those who organise their own tickets, accommodation and travel to and from the event will certainly find cheaper prices.
Secondary market: Valencia FC tickets on Viagogo and Co.
Ticket exchanges such as Viagogo or StubHub are always an interesting option for buying football tickets. Especially as the most popular seats are usually already taken via the club’s shop, it is worth browsing through the offers on the secondary market. Sales are made both long before a match and at short notice, for example when ticket holders are unable to attend a match – and the ticket cannot be returned to the club.
If you want to get hold of your Valencia FC ticket on the secondary market, you should always use one of the official ticket exchanges. Offers on eBay, classified adverts and social media, on the other hand, represent a risk, as fraud is more common here. In particular, you should never agree to pay by bank transfer. Viagogo and the like therefore offer various advantages:
- Secure payment method, such as Paypal
- Reputable intermediary between buyer and seller
- Possibility to compare different offers and prices
- Absolutely legal use by buyers
It should also be noted that slightly higher ticket prices are common on the secondary market. A premium of around 10% is considered normal, although prices could of course be even higher for top matches depending on demand.
Are Valencia FC tickets personalised?
An important aspect of buying tickets on the secondary market is the personalisation of the tickets. In the Bundesliga, this is already standard for many clubs. This does not yet apply to the Primera Division and tickets for Valencia FC are generally not personalised either. Exceptions to this rule may be very volatile matches with security risks as well as matches in international competition.
In the case of personalised tickets, the possibility of transferring personal data should be checked before purchasing. However, buyers can also assume that a check of the data at the entrance to the stadium is absolutely unusual and experience has shown that it hardly ever takes place – provided that there are no abnormalities on the part of the ticket holder.
How do I get tickets for Valencia FC as a wheelchair user?
If you are a disabled person or wheelchair user and would like to buy a ticket for Valencia FC, you must send an e-mail to the club. The relevant address can be found on the club’s website. Although no major price reductions are to be expected (the price of the lowest ticket category is standard), one accompanying person is admitted free of charge to the Estadio Mestalla.
Unforgettable moments: Valencia FC in the Copa del Rey
The Spanish Cup has often brought Valencia FC luck. With eight titles, they are one of the most successful clubs in the Copa del Rey. This is of course the main reason why fans eagerly await the cup matches weeks in advance. The last cup win came in the 2018/19 season.
This season, of course, all fans are keeping their fingers crossed that another title will find its way to Valencia. With vociferous support in the stadium, the 12th man is always present in the Copa del Rey. Don’t miss out on a Spanish Cup clash if you want to see Valencia FC at its best on the pitch.
Successes, records and passion: Valencia FC in Europe
Valencia FC have caused quite a stir in European competition in the past. Around the turn of the millennium, the team reached the final of the Champions League twice and was only narrowly defeated on both occasions. In the Europa League, on the other hand, they have already won one title and reached the semi-finals twice.
Unfortunately, Valencia FC are not represented in the European competition this year. The fans are all the more excited to hopefully experience top international football at the Estadio Mestalla again soon. After four years away from international football, the entire club is ready to play in the Champions League or Europa League again soon.
Travelling to the Estadio Mestalla
The Estadio Mestalla has already been a long time coming and is to make way for a new building. The 55,000 fans could turn their backs on the traditional stadium in the near future. So it’s well worth a visit!
This is the best way to get to the stadium on match day:
Travelling by car is not recommended. There are virtually no parking spaces directly at the stadium. You have to park at the Facultat de Magisteri. The distance to the stadium is around one kilometre.
However, the Arago underground station is right next to the stadium. You can easily get to the stadium on match day on lines 5 and 7. You can also travel to the Estadio Mestalla on bus lines 32, 10, 12 or L1.
The journey from the airport to the stadium is simple. Underground lines 3 and 5 run directly from the airport to the immediate vicinity of the stadium.
You can also take the underground directly from the railway station to the stadium. Here you can take lines 3, 5 or 7.
