Alongside the European Championship and the World Cup, the UEFA Nations League is the third major football competition for national teams. While millions of fans watch the exciting matches at the European Championship and World Cup, the Nations League is also attracting more and more spectators. The final round in particular promises explosive duels between major football nations from Europe.
If you want to buy tickets for the Nations League final, experience shows that you need a lot of luck. Because there is no free sale of tickets. Instead, the sales phase is organised via applications and draws. However, there are various ways to get hold of the coveted tickets and it is particularly worth taking a look at the secondary market. You can find all the information here.

How do you get tickets for the Nations League final?
UEFA is the organiser of the entire competition and generally regulates ticket sales. During the group stage, the European football association leaves ticket sales almost entirely to the respective national associations.
In the final round, too, around 90% of all available places are initially allocated to the participating national teams. So if the DFB team makes it to the final phase of the Nations League, fans can apply for tickets via the DFB website as usual for national matches. Members of the Fan Club Nationalmannschaft, which is organised directly by the DFB, enjoy a certain privilege for the cheapest ticket categories.
The remaining tickets will be allocated directly by UEFA. Here, too, an application phase takes place before the sales phase, whereby fans from all over the world can apply for tickets. As experience has shown that demand far exceeds the allocation in all cases, many fans are left empty-handed. The last chance to buy tickets for the Nations League Final is then on the secondary market – more on this later.
How much do Nations League Final tickets cost?
UEFA is responsible for the ticket prices for the final round of the Nations League, which means that the national associations are also guided by these prices. The exact cost depends on the fixture and the stadium in which a match is played. UEFA makes certain differences here. The European association also divides tickets into a total of four categories. A look at the last competition is recommended as a guide to future prices:
- Category 3: 20 euros each
- Category 2: 30 or 50 euros
- Category 1: 50 or 70 euros
- Premium category (seats in the centre of the lower tier): 90 or 120 Euro
The higher prices applied to one match of the semi-final (Netherlands v Croatia in Rotterdam) and the final (Rotterdam), while the cheaper tickets applied to the other semi-final (Spain v Italy in Enschede) and the match for third place (Enschede).
In addition, barrier-free tickets are also available for all matches, including a free ticket for a companion, which are always available at the price of the cheapest ticket category.
When do tickets for the Nations League final go on sale?
The application and sales phase for tickets to the final tournament and therefore also the final tickets is organised by UEFA two to three months before the final. In 2023, this was the period from 9 to 16 March, while the final was scheduled for 18 June. Fans can expect similar periods in the future, as can ticket sales by the participating national associations.
From the start of the official sales phase, i.e. as soon as the first tickets have been allocated, the first offers can often be found on the secondary market. However, it is always worth taking a look at ticket exchanges such as Viagogo or StubHub, even shortly before the final. Time and again, ticket holders who are unable to attend the match put their tickets up for sale.
Secondary market: Nations League final tickets on ticket exchanges
While fans apply for final tickets, a large proportion of them hope to actually see their own national team in the final. However, if they are eliminated, many disappointed fans quickly sell their tickets, as very few of them live near the stadium. This is the time when tickets for the Nations League final can become a bargain. In any case, those interested in buying tickets on the secondary market should bear a few important points in mind:
- As ticket exchanges only act as intermediaries and the sellers are private, ticket prices are set individually and can be higher than in official sales.
- The tickets are issued in digital form, so there are no shipping costs or postage.
- The ticket exchanges offer secure payment methods such as PayPal, which means greater protection for buyers, whereas private bank transfers are always a risk.
- Tickets for the final round of the Nations League are personalised and can be transferred via the official UEFA ticket app.
The last point in particular should be taken into account. Ticket and personal data are almost never checked at stadium entrances. However, to ensure that tickets are valid beyond doubt, it is recommended that they are transferred to the correct ticket holder. This is also not a problem, as the transfer is very convenient and uncomplicated via app.
When and where will the Nations League 2025 final take place?
UEFA organises the tournament schedule well in advance so that the days of the opening match through to the final are known well in advance. The group stage of the 2024/2025 season will begin on 5 September 2024 with the first match and end on 19 November 2024. The final round (Final Four) will then begin on 4 June 2025 with the semi-finals, while the final will finally take place on 8 June, a Sunday.
The venue for all final round matches in the Nations League, on the other hand, is only determined each year once the participants in the final matches have been finalised. UEFA selects a host from the so-called Final Four of the final round. For fans of the DFB team, for example, this means that there is at least a good chance of experiencing the Nations League final in Germany if the German national team qualifies for the final round.
