You will never walk alone – who doesn’t know the Liverpool FC anthem? And what football fan doesn’t dream of being there at Anfield Road and experiencing the atmosphere live? Jürgen Klopp’s team is carried by its fans, whether in the Premier League, the League Cup or the European Cup. The atmosphere at Liverpool matches is simply phenomenal.
Added to this, of course, is the performance of the team, which is one of the favourites in all competitions year after year. It is therefore clear that Liverpool FC tickets are almost always sold out. Nevertheless, there are ways to get tickets and the effort will certainly be rewarded with an unforgettable experience.

How do I get Liverpool FC tickets?
There are currently around 56,000 seats in total at Anfield Stadium. The capacity will be increased to 61,000 seats due to a refurbishment that is currently underway and is due to be completed in the 2023/2024 season. However, the high demand for football tickets in Liverpool is certainly not met by this contingent. In the past and also in the current season, Anfield is almost always 100% full.
Experience has shown that only season ticket holders and a few thousand of the club’s many members can obtain tickets via the first channel, i.e. direct ticket sales by Liverpool FC. Even for members, there is a kind of loyalty system that prioritises ticket sales. Those who attended at least 13 home games last season benefit from this.
There are very few free day ticket sales for Premier League matches. Those who miss out have to hope that ticket holders or season ticket holders will offer their tickets for sale again because they are unable to attend the match themselves.
In this respect, there is also another option, which is particularly interesting for fans without contact to the Liverpool FC scene: the secondary market. There are always numerous offers for Premier League tickets on Viagogo, StubHub and similar portals, and Liverpool matches are no exception, but rather all the more popular.
Football holidays are also in vogue. Travel providers advertise a football trip, whereby a ticket is guaranteed and the stay in the hotel as well as travel to and from the match is often arranged directly. The price for such a football trip is, of course, quite high.
How much do Liverpool FC tickets cost?
While the Premier League generally has some of the highest ticket prices in Europe, Liverpool FC is still at a manageable level. For example, three-digit amounts for football tickets in England are not uncommon. The most expensive Liverpool FC tickets, on the other hand, cost “only” £60, which is the equivalent of around €69 for full payers.
On the other hand, Anfield even has the cheapest tickets in the entire league. For 9 pounds, just under 10 euros, fans can take up a few hundred seats in the two outermost and rearmost corners of the main stand. However, these are unfortunately also very poor viewing conditions and the few tickets are of course quickly sold out and rarely end up on sale.
The other seats in the stadium cost the equivalent of between 35 and 66 euros each, with the cheaper ones (under 50 euros) falling in the legendary “Kop” – the stand for the club’s biggest and most loyal fans. As an outsider and non-season ticket holder, it is almost impossible to get hold of these tickets.
Mind you, all these prices apply to purchases directly from Liverpool FC. Due to the enormous demand for tickets, the prices for resale on the secondary market are naturally much higher.
Are there discounted tickets for Liverpool FC matches?
Firstly, it should be said that there are no standing tickets at Anfield and as such there are no particularly cheap tickets, as is the case in Germany (with the exception of the aforementioned few tickets for 10 euros). That said, the club does offer discounts.
Senior citizens aged 65 and over pay 10 to 15 euros less for the various tickets and children aged 6 to 18 pay only half the price of full-price tickets. For children under the age of 6, a ticket price of 10 euros applies in all areas of the stadium.
Liverpool FC tickets are also available for people with disabilities, including the visually impaired. As adults, they pay 10 to 15 euros less, with further discounts as described above. In addition, one accompanying person is admitted free of charge.
Tickets for Liverpool away games
Away tickets for Liverpool FC always cost €35, which corresponds to the general upper limit for away tickets that currently exists in the Premier League. As with home games, tickets for away games are initially only available to season ticket holders and members of the club, while tickets for league games are almost never sold freely. For interested parties from Germany, away tickets for Liverpool FC against Manchester United, for example, are therefore only available on the secondary market.
When do Liverpool FC tickets go on sale?
Like most of the big clubs in the Premiere League, Liverpool FC opens the pre-sale for tickets right at the start of the season, after the league fixture list has been published. From then on, tickets can be purchased for all home games in the first half of the season. The second sales phase, for the home games of the second half of the season, will therefore take place in November/December, shortly before the season starts.
This also means that offers for Liverpool FC tickets on the secondary market can come up at any time – even for games that take place a few months later.
Tickets for Liverpool on Viagogo, StubHub and co. – the secondary market

One reason for the numerous options on ticket exchanges such as Viagogo, StubHub and other portals is that the Premier League fixture list can sometimes change at short notice. This happens, for example, when the schedules of clubs that are represented in several competitions become too tight. As Liverpool FC is usually involved in national and international cups as well as the league, this also affects the Reds.
Liverpool FC ticket holders then sometimes realise that a new match date is inconvenient and sell their tickets, which they have secured well in advance. Especially as the Premier League also plays on Boxing Day (i.e. Christmas) and New Year’s Day. In this respect, there are always plenty of opportunities for Liverpool tickets on the secondary market, but they should be snapped up quickly.
It should be noted that the purchase of football tickets on secondary market portals is absolutely legal. Viagogo and co. act as intermediaries between private sellers and buyers. The latter should ideally pay attention to a few aspects:
- Higher ticket prices are common and are based on general demand, so that even high three-digit amounts can be charged.
- Liverpool FC tickets are always available digitally, so there should be no shipping costs or delays after purchase.
- The exact seats should be visible and checked in advance of a purchase.
- The tickets may still show a match date that corresponded to the match schedule before it was changed – buyers should check the current information here.
- Paypal or similar secure options should always be used as a payment method, while bank transfers represent a potential risk.
Are Liverpool FC football tickets personalised?
In the Premier League, football tickets are personalised for the vast majority of clubs. This also applies to Liverpool FC. Purchased tickets are therefore initially personalised to the purchaser, who has the option of transferring each ticket to a different person. This should be borne in mind when buying on the secondary market. Apart from this, however, checks on personal details at the entrance to Anfield Stadium are highly unusual and there have been no reports of admission being denied due to an incorrect name on a ticket.
Football trips to Liverpool FC – is it worth it?
In addition to La Liga, the Premier League is a particularly popular destination for football trips, which are currently experiencing a huge trend. Liverpool FC’s Anfield stadium is of course a particular favourite. Tour operators such as Vietentours and Dertour advertise the fact that a ticket is guaranteed for the football trip and that hotel accommodation is also included in the price.
However, this price starts in the mid three-figure range and can even be much higher, depending on the match. Such a fan trip can cover home and away matches in the Premier League as well as the international competition.
So football fans who are not afraid of higher costs may find interesting offers here. However, if you compare various adverts on the secondary market and also take care of travel and accommodation yourself, you are likely to find a cheaper overall package than those football trips.
Former successes and new titles: Liverpool FC in the FA Cup
Jürgen Klopp also brought success back to Liverpool. The Reds have already won the FA Cup eight times. However, the last success before the era with the German coach was almost 20 years ago. The fans were all the more jubilant when another title was celebrated in the 2011/22 season.
Since then, Liverpool FC has repeatedly emphasised its ambitions to win the cup. However, it has not yet been enough to achieve the big coup. The team therefore needs all the support it can get from the fans. Be there live in the stadium when the exciting FA Cup clashes are on the programme.
Success, records and passion: Liverpool FC in Europe
In the late 70s and early 80s, Liverpool FC was one of the best teams in Europe. New international success only returned with the arrival of Jürgen Klopp. In the 2018/19 season, Liverpool FC won the Champions League for the second time. The team also won the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
Since the recent successes, fans have naturally been dreaming of more titles. The euphoria is therefore great when the Champions League comes to Anfield Road. To experience such a home game live is the dream of many Liverpool fans. Be there live when Salah and Co. work their magic on the pitch and secure Liverpool FC tickets for the international competitions!
The journey to Anfield

Anfield is one of the most traditional stadiums in European football. The famous Liverpool fan stand “The Kop” is just one part of the arena with around 54,000 seats. Anfield has existed in its original form since 1884.
Finally, here are some important tips for travelling to Anfield:
Arriving by car: There are a limited number of parking spaces available directly at the stadium. Stanley Park Car Park and Utting Ave Car Park are only accessible via Priory Road. Arrive as early as possible to avoid the traffic.
Travelling by public transport: The Liverpool FC bus stop is located directly at the stadium and is served by routes 17 and 26.
Travelling from the airport: From Liverpool John Lennon Airport, you can only get to Anfield by bus or taxi. Lines 81, 86 and 500 run directly from the airport into the city. In any case, you will have to change buses once.
