Initially, there were two independent football clubs in Frankfurt, but they merged into one in 1911. In 1920, a second merger took place in the city, with the athletics association also coming on board, and this was the first time that the term “Eintracht” was used. Of course, cheap tickets were also in great demand from this point onwards, as fans were eager to see how the newly founded club would reposition itself. In this last merger, a merger with the Turn- und Sportverein Frankfurt took place, but it did not last long, as it was dissolved again in 1927 due to unresolvable differences.

However, it did not take long for the two parties to come together again, as just one year later, in 1928, another merger took place under the name Eintracht Frankfurt, which is still used today. The most difficult time for Frankfurt was probably between 1996 and 2002. Financially, the club was on the brink of insolvency and things were not really going well in sporting terms either. The club was relegated to the second division, which also resulted in financial losses. There were further promotions and relegations as a result, but the team has been stable since 2012 and has established itself in the First Bundesliga.

Eintracht tickets always promise excitement

Eintracht Frankfurt has enjoyed a number of successes over the years. It all started with the first and so far only German championship in 1959, when rivals Kickers Offenbach were defeated 5:3 in the so-called final in Berlin. The Eintracht fans were naturally very euphoric from then on and naturally tried more than ever to experience their club in the stadium. However, the next success was a few years away. The first international title was won in 1980 when the club won the Uefa Cup (now the Europa League). And not against a club from abroad, but against another German representative, Borussia Mönchengladbach.

As soon as it became clear that this would be the name of the final, numerous Eintracht Frankfurt tickets were sold in no time at all. In addition to winning the championship in 1959, Eintracht also caused a furore nationally. The DFB Cup was won four times, in 1947, 1975, 1981 and 1988, making the club increasingly popular and attracting more and more people to the stadium. But since then, the club’s fans have waited in vain for further success. However, this fact does not detract from the sale of Eintracht Frankfurt tickets, as the stadium is constantly full even without recent successes.

Eintracht’s stadium, the Commerzbank Arena, is very well attended. Especially when other big names in the league such as Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich are visiting, the rush for seats is huge. The stadium has a total capacity of 51,500, 48,000 of which are seats. However, the Commerzbank Arena is also used for various concerts, for which 65,000 seats are available. Even in difficult times, Eintracht fans remained loyal to the club and even when the club was playing in the second Bundesliga, numerous Eintracht tickets were sold.

In the 2014/2015 season, a total of 26,000 season tickets were sold, putting Eintracht in 7th place in this category, with BVB from Dortmund leading the way with 55,000 season tickets. In the 2013/2014 season, an average of 47,053 spectators came to the Commerzbank Arena, which also put them in the top ten. It can therefore be seen that even if no successes are currently being achieved, numerous Eintracht Frankfurt tickets are still being sold.

Of course, numerous stars have also worn the Eintracht Frankfurt jersey over the years. The current national coach of Germany, Joachim Löw, should be mentioned here in particular. Other well-known former stars are: Andreas Köpke, Thomas Doll, Uwe Bein, Uli Stein, Andi Möller, Ioannis Amanatidis, Maurizio Gaudino and Bernd Hölzenbein. Frankfurt goalkeeping legend Oka Nikolov should also be included in this list. He remained loyal to the club for over 20 years and therefore experienced many highs and lows with Eintracht. Jay-Jay Okocha and Anthony Yeboah also ensured a special playing culture. Today, one player in particular deserves special mention: Alex Maier.

Last season, despite an average team performance, he was top scorer in the Bundesliga, even though he was unable to play in the last few games due to injury. Alex Maier is always good for one or more goals per game and he proved this again in the current 2015/2016 season. After a long break, he made his comeback and scored 3 goals in his first match. It is precisely because of such spectacles that numerous tickets for Eintracht Frankfurt are sold every season.

In the current season, Eintracht Frankfurt has had an average start, with 2 wins, 2 draws and one defeat after the fifth matchday. Thanks to good transfers, Eintracht Frankfurt tickets are also expected to sell very well this season. For example, Stefan Reinartz was signed from Bayer Leverkusen to stabilise the midfield. Of course, the fans are also dreaming of participating in international competition again this season. If this goal is achieved, the club can expect increased sales of cheap tickets.
