Ticket information for the Werder Bremen stadium

With 31,500 seats and 10,600 standing places, the Weserstadion in Bremen is in the middle of the pack when it comes to stadium capacity among German Bundesliga clubs. However, as Werder has an enormous fan culture, most home matches are sold out. You should therefore secure your tickets as early as possible in the pre-sale phase.

Otherwise, only remaining tickets will be available at the Werder Bremen stadium and you may have to make do with less favourable seats. A particularly intense stadium experience is guaranteed with a ticket in the Werder fan block. This is located in the east stand and extends across both tiers. Standing room only is available in the lower tier, while you can also sit in the upper tier of the Weserstadion.

Sectors 112 and 114 are also special, as a smoke-free zone has been introduced in the Werder Bremen stadium together with the AOK. This is particularly practical for non-smokers or people with special health needs. Away fans can be seated in blocks 101 to 105. If there is a large crowd, sectors 107 to 113 can also be opened up for visiting fans.

Stadium tour and events at the Wohninvest Weserstadion: an overview

As a true Werder fan, you must of course take a look behind the scenes at the Weser Stadium. Because during home matches, of course, you don’t have the opportunity to explore the stadium’s catacombs. However, a public tour gives you the unique opportunity to get to know the Werder Bremen stadium from a completely new perspective.

Take a seat on the trainer’s bench, take a look inside the dressing rooms and feel like a professional footballer as you walk along the players’ tunnel. Every public stadium tour also includes a visit to the WUSEUM. The price is 10 euros per person.

On home match days, you can also book a very special tour of the Werder Bremen stadium. Three to four hours before kick-off, you’ll be right up close to the players. Feel the energy along the touchline and take an exclusive look into the press rooms. The tour costs 24 euros per person.

There are always after-work tours on offer in the evening. After the tour, you can enjoy a cool beer or a tasty lemonade in the stands and watch the sun set over the Weser Stadium.

Visitor information for the Weserstadion

The Werder Bremen stadium opens its gates 90 minutes before kick-off on match days. Bags and backpacks larger than DIN A4 are not permitted. However, free bag drop-off points are available at various entrances.

Of course, fans in wheelchairs can also experience the live action at the Weserstadion. There is a barrier-free entrance at Gate 3, where there are also barrier-free seats for wheelchair users and their companions. The Weserstadion also has its own room with rest facilities.

Visually impaired fans also get their money’s worth at the Wohninvest Weserstadion. There are special seats in Block 20 that are equipped with headphones. The match will be commentated live for the full 90 minutes.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available via the club’s online shop. A disabled pass is required for admission. A total of around 130 seats are available for people with disabilities.

VIP tickets for the Werder Bremen stadium

At the Weserstadion, you can choose between various hospitality packages and enjoy Werder’s home matches in a comfortable and exclusive atmosphere. The business seats without box access are the cheapest. These cost around €1,500 per season. Day tickets must be requested in advance and cannot be purchased online.

However, if you want to enjoy the full VIP programme, prices are around €5,000 per season. Again, day tickets must be requested in advance. You can choose between the following offers at the Wohninvest Weserstadion:

• Hummel Lounge: Business seats in the West Stand, including heated seats, allow you to watch the home match at the Werder Bremen stadium in maximum comfort. Live front cooking and an exclusive buffet round off your stay.

Interesting facts about the Weser Stadium

The Wohninvest Weserstadion has only borne its current name since 2019, before which Werder Bremen’s home ground was simply known as the Weserstadion. However, the club’s main sponsor has also secured the naming rights for the stadium until 2029. The stadium is located directly on the Weser and boasts one of the most beautiful locations in the whole of Germany.

The Weser Stadium was originally built in 1926 and was equipped with the first large grandstand. Werder has played its home matches here since 1930. After the Second World War, the stadium was reopened in 1947.

The Werder Bremen stadium has been renovated and remodelled many times over the years. The first extensive refurbishment took place for the first season of the German soccer league in 1963. In the 1990s, an athletics hall was opened under the south stand. At that time, the Weser Stadium was also the first German arena with VIP boxes.

The stadium was then extensively renovated again between 2008 and 2011. An expansion to around 50,000 seats was actually planned. However, due to the high costs involved, the club decided vs. increasing the number of stands.

As the Weser Stadium is somewhat smaller than other German arenas, no matches were held in Bremen during the 2006 World Cup. The Werder Bremen Stadium is also not part of the venues for the 2024 European Championship at home. However, Bremen hosted the 1,000th international match of the German national team vs. Ukraine.

Herbert Grönemeyer gave the last concert in the Weser Stadium on 25 June 2007. After the renovation, escape routes were lost and the number of concertgoers should have been significantly reduced. In addition, a hybrid turf has now been laid in the stadium, making concerts no longer possible.

How to get to the Wohninvest Weserstadion

The parking situation around the Weser Stadium is tense. There are virtually no parking spaces available for visitors on match days. In addition, a large traffic-free zone is set up around the Werder Bremen stadium two and a half hours before kick-off. Access by car is therefore not possible.

However, if you are travelling by car, you can use one of the P+R facilities in Bremen and get to the stadium from there by bus or train. From Bremen Central Station, you can take tram line 10 directly to the vicinity of the Weser Stadium. The “Sebaldsbrück” stop is around a 10-minute walk from the arena.

Fans can also get to the stadium by boat. The Weserstadion ferry landing stage is located right next to the arena and makes the journey there a real experience in itself. Ferry trips are offered from Pier 2 and the Martinianleger on match days.
