Ticket information for the 1. FC Nürnberg Stadium
Exactly 50,000 fans fit into the Max Morlock Stadium for 1. FC Nürnberg’s home matches. In addition to the 36,771 seats, you can also opt for one of the 13,229 standing places. You have the best view of the action from the main or opposite stand. While you are particularly close to the action in the lower tier, you have a kind of bird’s eye view in the upper tier.
In the south curve, a separate area for young stadium visitors has been created in block 33. The family block in the former Frankenstadion offers fun activities such as goal wall shooting and can throwing. When a Nuremberg professional enters the block at the latest, even the adult guests in the family block become little boys again.
The south curve also accommodates all guest fans. Depending on capacity and demand, blocks 21 to 25 are opened up for guest fans at 1. FC Nürnberg Stadion. In the north curve, on the other hand, you have the opportunity to loudly support the home team. This is where the supporter areas are located.
Advance ticket sales for the Max Morlock Stadium are available online and locally via the fan shop. You will need your own account to purchase tickets via the club’s website. Tickets can either be printed out or used digitally. If you are spontaneously unable to attend the home matches, an official secondary market is also available.
Stadium tour and events at the Nuremberg stadium: an overview
If you would like to take a look behind the scenes, a guided tour of the Max Morlock Stadium is highly recommended. This gives you the opportunity to get to know the home ground of 1. FC Nürnberg from a whole new perspective.
Public tours take place from April to October and are offered every Thursday afternoon. As the number of participants is limited, you should definitely buy a ticket in advance. This can be done directly via the Max Morlock Stadium website and costs 14 euros for an adult. A public tour lasts around 90 minutes and takes you into the VIP area, onto the pitch and into the technical centre.
Premium tours are also available for larger groups. Here you can take a seat on the trainer’s bench, enter a box and, if you feel like it, organise a race on the running track. The maximum number of participants is 35 and the all-inclusive price is 220 euros.
But it’s not all about soccer at the 1. FC Nürnberg Stadium. Other events, such as American football matches and the annual Advent carol singing, also take place here.
Visitor information for the Max Morlock Stadium
On home match days, admission usually starts two hours or at least 90 minutes before the start of the match. The club takes great care to ensure that the 0.8 per mille limit is observed. Heavily intoxicated fans are not allowed to enter the stadium for safety reasons.
There is also a clear dress code in the North Curve. Fans may only enter the Max Morlock Stadium in neutral clothing or in the colours of 1. FC Nürnberg. Large bags or rucksacks may not be taken into the stadium.
There are around 120 barrier-free seats for people with disabilities in the former Nuremberg stadium. However, it is hardly possible to reserve the barrier-free seats for individual matches. The club has a strong season ticket culture here and almost all tickets for wheelchair users and people with other disabilities are sold out at the start of the season.
VIP tickets for the former Frankenstadion
At the Max Morlock Stadium, you can choose between six different hospitality areas or take a seat in one of the 19 exclusive boxes. The VIP areas open 90 minutes before kick-off and offer a very special highlight. At all home matches in the former Frankenstadion, fans are greeted personally by the board of directors.
- Kulmbacher Lounge: In the Kulmbacher Lounge, you can enjoy an exclusive football experience in the Max Morlock Stadium. Delicious dishes from the menu are complemented by individually prepared dishes. No culinary wish is left unfulfilled here. You also have access to Block 38 of the main stand and can enjoy the match in the best seats.
- Club Lounge: A reserved table with waiter service awaits you in the largest VIP area of the Max Morlock Stadium. The spacious, bright room with a beautiful view and direct access to the main stand also ensures that you can enjoy every second of the match to the full.
- FCN Team Lounge: The name says it all, as the FCN Team Lounge is closest to the changing rooms and interview zones. In addition, some players come into the lounge after the final whistle to chat with guests. You can enjoy a high-quality buffet and upholstered seats in Block 37 or 39.
You can purchase your VIP tickets for the Nuremberg Stadium directly from the club’s online shop. Here you will find both day tickets and season tickets available before the start of the season. However, demand is particularly high for the top matches at the Nuremberg stadium. You should therefore be quick if you want to experience a home match in the hospitality area.
Interesting facts about the Max Morlock Stadium
The 1. FC Nürnberg stadium has a long history and reflects the values of the traditional club. The arena was built between 1925 and 1928 and has retained its characteristic octagonal layout to this day. After its opening, the former municipal stadium was considered the largest and most modern facility in the world.
From 1945, today’s Max Morlock Stadium was used by the US Army for baseball matches. It was not until the early 1960s that soccer was back on the programme. It was not until 1963 that 1. FC Nürnberg moved into the municipal stadium after the former Zerzabelshof Stadium was sold. The attendance record was set on 30 May 1971 in a match vs. Fortuna Düsseldorf. An incredible 75,000 fans came to the arena. However, this capacity was only possible because the athletics track was also opened to fans.
This athletics track is still there today and makes the Max Morlock Stadium truly special. Hardly any other professional football arena in Germany still has this facility today. In 2003, the stadium underwent extensive refurbishment as it was nominated to host the 2006 soccer World Cup.
The eventful past of today’s Max Morlock Stadium is also reflected in the history of the arena’s name. Since its opening in 1928, the name has changed nine times.

Incidentally, the arena owes its current name to Consorsbank. The current sponsor waived the naming rights and opted for the current name Max-Morlock-Stadion.
How to get to the Nuremberg stadium

The Max Morlock Stadium is located in the south-west of the city and is relatively easy to reach by car. However, fans should note that Beuthener Straße will be closed to traffic until the Frankenstadion stop. You can park at the exhibition centre, which is a short walk from the stadium. Parking directly at the stadium is very limited and reserved for VIP guests.
As the stadium is embedded in an allotment site and a park, there is no direct public transport connection. This means that travelling to the stadium by bus or train always involves a short walk. From Nuremberg main station, you can take the S3 to the Nürnberg Frankenstadion stop. Now you are only 7 minutes away from the Max Morlock Stadium. Bus routes 55 and 96 also stop at Nürnberg Frankenstadion
