It is particularly difficult to get hold of tickets on sale, especially for matches vs. the top clubs or the Merseyside derby. Ticket information for Liverpool FC Stadium

Anfield is one of the five largest stadiums in the English Premier League and can accommodate more than 60,000 fans at home matches. However, as demand has skyrocketed again since the successes under Jürgen Klopp, buying tickets can be a difficult process.

In any case, you should be ready to buy your tickets right at the start of the general sale. The remaining tickets for the free sale are usually sold out after just a few hours. For top matches or Champions League matches, however, it can also happen that there is no free sale at all.

If you want to secure tickets for Anfield Stadium, a membership may be worthwhile so that you can access the sale earlier. The best tickets can be found in the centre tier at the Main Stand or in the upper section of the lower tier at the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand.

There is no separate family sector at Liverpool Stadium, but children and families can visit the Family Zone before the start of the match and during half-time. For away fans, there are also only seats in the Anfield Road Stand. Right opposite, in the stand known as the Kop, is where the club’s true heart and soul fans are housed.

Stadium tour and events at Anfield: an overview

Guided tours take place several times a day at Anfield, where football fans from all over the world can learn more about the legendary stadium. Tickets can be purchased directly from the club’s website. The prices here are the cheapest at around 22 euros per person. Visitor information for Anfield Stadium

On match days, you can generally arrive at Anfield two hours before kick-off, as the turnstiles are activated from then on. You can either use your ticket digitally via your smartphone or bring it with you in printed form. It is generally advisable to arrive early so that you are in your seat in time for kick-off. This also gives you the opportunity to see how the Anfield gradually fills up with fans.

You may only enter the stadium with a small rucksack or a small A5-sized bag. Larger luggage must be stowed in the lockers in advance. Smoking is prohibited in the entire stadium and will be penalised with immediate expulsion in the event of an infringement. E-cigarettes may also not be used at Anfield for safety reasons.

All four stands at Liverpool Stadium have dedicated areas for wheelchair users. Some of the barrier-free seats are also designed for two other accompanying persons and are relatively spacious. Liverpool FC also provides a special service for visually impaired fans at Anfield. A headset with live commentary is available on request.

Interesting facts about Anfield Stadium

Anfield was built back in 1884, but at that time it was still the home ground of arch-rivals Everton FC. However, after the Toffees moved to the new Goodison Park, Liverpool FC was quickly founded to breathe new life into Anfield Stadium. This is one of the reasons why the club is still so closely linked to the stadium today and why home matches are always something very special.

The location of Anfield is also very special, as the stadium is situated in the middle of a residential area. In addition, Goodison Park is only around 1.5 kilometres away from Everton. There is hardly another derby in the football world that takes place at such a short distance from a geographical perspective.

After the stadium was last renovated in 1998, Liverpool actually wanted to build a new stadium in the early 2000s. However, due to the high costs, the club decided to stay at Anfield until today. With the expansion between 2021 and 2023, the move is likely to be off the table for the next few years.

Despite the stadium’s appeal in club soccer, “only” four matches at an international tournament have been played at Anfield to date. The arena was a venue for the 1996 European Championship in England and hosted the quarter-final between France and the Netherlands, among others. The journey to Anfield in Liverpool

Anfield is located in the north of Liverpool and has been increasingly surrounded by residential buildings since it was built in 1884. The Liverpool stadium is now located in the centre of the city and is therefore difficult to reach by car on match days. Although there are some car parks, these are mainly reserved for fans with disabilities and VIP guests.

However, you can also try to purchase a parking ticket when you buy a ticket. Only if you are lucky will you be able to park in the immediate vicinity of Anfield. Alternatively, you can park your car at St Domingo Car Park and then take a 15-minute walk.

Of course, you can also travel to Anfield by public transport on match days. The Liverpool FC bus stop is served by routes 17 and 26, with significantly more buses in operation on match days. If you have tickets for the Anfield Road Stand, you can get off one stop earlier at Anfield Road.
