FC Augsburg tickets: Season ticket prices raised for the first time in 8 years

The team of Bundesliga club FC Augsburg can rely on its fans, as the WWK Arena has sold out 20 of the past 23 home matches. This includes the league match at the end of the 2023/2024 season against VfB Stuttgart, which the Fuggerstädter lost 1:0.

In its current design, the WWK Arena offers space for 30,660 spectators and can be expanded to a capacity of around 50,000 in the second expansion stage. The arena is divided into 19,556 seats and around 8,000 standing places in the home section. Almost 3,000 seats are planned for the guest block. FC Augsburg tickets: Price increase for season tickets

The club recently had some bad news for FC Augsburg’s loyal supporters. For the first time in 8 years, fans will have to dig deeper into their pockets for a season ticket. The reason given by the club for the ticket price increase was the sharp rise in personnel and club maintenance expenses. Those responsible at the club had to react to these costs, and yet FC Augsburg’s season ticket prices are still below average compared to the rest of the league.

The increase in ticket prices for FC Augsburg season tickets can be summarised simply, with the price rising by around 10 per cent, meaning that a standing-room season ticket for full-paying fans will cost €219 in the 2024/2025 season. In the previous season, the price was €199 per ticket and was therefore €20 or 10 per cent cheaper. The cheapest season ticket in the seating segment is available to FCA supporters for €399. With a percentage increase of 14.5 per cent, the jump from €349 to €399 is the biggest of all categories.

FC Augsburg season ticket prices: savings of 30 per cent

The club announced a total saving of 30 per cent for season ticket holders for the 17 home matches compared to individual tickets. In addition, season ticket holders have a right of first refusal for potential home matches in the DFB Cup. FC Augsburg sells the season tickets as a subscription, which was extended for the upcoming 2024/2025 season on 15 May 2024. Currently, 16,000 Augsburg supporters have such a ticket.

While the number of season tickets sold in the 2016/2017 Europa League season was 18,500, 17,500 Augsburg fans still had a season ticket in the 2018/2019 season. The club attributes the downward trend to the coronavirus pandemic, among other things, as it was during this time that some fans decided to exercise their right of cancellation and no longer renew their season ticket. Bundesliga 1: a comparison of season ticket prices

According to the fan portal “Millernton.de”, FC Augsburg is in 13th place in last season’s “ticket table”, which adds together the regular prices for a standing-room season ticket and the cheapest and most expensive seated season ticket. For Augsburg fans, this resulted in a value of 1107 euros (199 euros for standing-room season tickets, 349 and 629 euros for seated season tickets).

Particularly interesting is the fact that the fans of relegated Bundesliga club 1. FC Cologne had to pay the most for a stadium visit at €1705. At the other end of the table are the German champions from Leverkusen, whose fans only had to pay €840. Bayer 04 Leverkusen is followed by 1. FC Heidenheim with €875 and VfL Wolfsburg with €900.
