Borussia Mönchengladbach tickets: price structure for the 2024/2025 season

On 23 August, Borussia Mönchengladbach will kick off the new season in the opening match against rivals and reigning German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Two years ago, Borussia introduced a price structure for day ticket prices, in which the matches were divided into different categories. Top matches such as those against FC Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund were in a higher price category than matches against lower mid-table teams.

Ticket prices: Matches against FC Bayern Munich the most expensive

Ticket sales for the match against FC Bayern Munich took less than 6 hours before the tickets were completely sold out, even though the match against the German record champions from Munich has the highest top match mark-up. For the home game against Munich, Borussia is adding 30 euros to the normal ticket price.

A ticket for the clash on matchday 16 will cost fans in the seating area at least 59 euros. Despite the hefty price tag, club officials announced that around 35 per cent more tickets were sold on the first weekend of the members’ pre-sale than last season.

Borussia Mönchengladbach: Ticket price mark-up against “big” clubs

The second-highest category includes matches against teams that are popularly referred to as “big” in German. This includes home matches against reigning German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the Borussia Dortmund clash. This category also includes matches against Eintracht Frankfurt, VfB Stuttgart and Werder Bremen.

Somewhat surprisingly, the match against VfL Wolfsburg also receives the top match supplement of 20 euros. The Wolves are not normally regarded as a spectator magnet and are more likely to be one of the teams for which tickets are reduced.

The reason for the surcharge is that this match between Borussia Gladbach and VfL Wolfsburg is the 34th matchday on 17 May 2025. The last matchday fills the stadiums almost by itself, so the weather conditions or the opponent are irrelevant.

Borussia Mönchengladbach ticket prices: Match against FC Augsburg the cheapest

The majority of matches fall into the normal price category for seat tickets, including the matches against the two promoted teams FC St. Pauli and Holstein Kiel. The home games against VfL Bochum, RB Leipzig, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, 1. FC Heidenheim, SC Freiburg, Mainz 05 and Union Berlin are also in this category.

The match against FC Augsburg is the cheapest for fans, with seat tickets starting at just €19 per ticket. The reason for this is the poor attendance from last season. With 44,867 spectators, this match attracted the fewest fans to Borussia-Park.

Borussia Mönchengladbach: Fifth-best average attendance in the 1st Bundesliga

The match with the most spectators was the clash against Union Berlin. A total of 53,723 fans flocked to the arena for the match. Close behind were the home matches against SC Freiburg (53,259) and VfL Bochum (53,196). Matches against the teams commonly referred to as “plastic clubs”, RB Leipzig (50,122) and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (49,341), on the other hand, left one or two places open.

Last season, Borussia Gladbach achieved the fifth-best average attendance in the league with 51,371 spectators. Only Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart achieved a higher average attendance, which is unlikely to be matched in the 2024/2025 season.

Relegated Cologne followed closely behind and RB Leipzig had a comfortable lead in the attendance table, which is why Borussia could be in this position again this season.
