Ticket information for the Hertha BSC Berlin Stadium

The Hertha BSC stadium has a special feature. It is the only arena in German professional football that has no standing room at all. This means that all 74,500 tickets can only be purchased for a seat. This means you always have a fixed allocated seat in the stadium. You can choose between a seat in the lower or upper tier. As the Olympic Stadium in Berlin is a large oval, you have the best view of the action from the main and opposite stands.

There are also two family sectors in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. In the smoke-free Block A and Block 1, even the little ones will get their money’s worth. A special entertainment programme awaits them here. Children up to the age of five do not need their own ticket.

Advance ticket sales usually start three to four weeks before the match day. Right from the start, all fans have access to tickets for the Hertha BSC Berlin Stadium. As the arena is rarely sold out, there is no protected sale. Tickets can be purchased either online or via the club’s ticket hotline. Alternatively, you can also visit the fan shop directly in Berlin.

If you change your mind, tickets can be returned by e-mail. You will then receive a full refund and the tickets for the Olympic Stadium will be put back on sale.

Stadium tour and events in the Olympic Stadium: an overview

The Olympiastadion is an attraction that can of course also be visited outside of Hertha BSC’s home matches. Tickets for a tour cannot be purchased through the club, but are bought directly from the stadium’s website.

During a tour, you can move freely around the stadium grounds, walk around it and enjoy the view from various blocks. This allows you to explore the history of the stadium on your own. Multimedia guides are available in several languages and provide audio input.

Alternatively, you can also book a tour with a guide. For all football fans, the Hertha tour in the Olympic Stadium is an option. Here you can take a look inside the Hertha dressing room, discover the fatigue pool and explore the press conference room. The tour not only takes place in the Hertha BSC stadium, but also includes a guided tour of the entire grounds of the capital city club. The tour costs 18 euros per person.

If you are mainly interested in the Olympic Stadium itself, the highlight tour for 15 euros is the right choice. Here you can find out more about the history of the arena and gain an insight into the VIP areas and the underground warm-up hall. There are also special light experience tours and VIP tours on the programme.

Visitor information for the Hertha BSC Stadium

If it is not a match day, the Olympic Stadium opens its doors from 09:00 to 19:00. On weekends, admission starts at 11:00 am. Visitors can then experience the unique stadium up close. For home matches, fans can enter the Hertha BSC Stadium 90 minutes before kick-off.

For security reasons, there are strict admission controls. Fans are not allowed to take bags larger than A4 format into the stadium. Plastic and glass containers are also prohibited. Tetrapaks, however, may be taken into the Olympic Stadium.

Entrances for people with disabilities and their companions are located at the east and south gates. Medical equipment such as syringes may only be taken into the stadium if registered with the club. Tickets for people with disabilities can be purchased directly from the Hertha BSC Stadion online shop. There are special offers for wheelchair users, blind and deaf people. The seats for blind and deaf people are located in block B1.

VIP tickets for the Olympic Stadium in Berlin

The Olympic Stadium offers its guests a comprehensive VIP concept with unforgettable hospitality services. Whether it’s a Hertha home match, DFB Cup final or European Championship – fans get their money’s worth in the VIP areas. The hospitality area opens its doors 90 minutes before the match. Even after the final whistle, you can still enjoy a good time here, socialise or indulge in culinary delights. The VIP areas remain open until 90 minutes after the end of the match.

  • Business Lounge: With upholstered seats in the main and opposite stands, you always have the best view of the action. Of course, guests’ physical well-being is also catered for. You will find a selection of hot and cold dishes as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Tickets are available for around 300 euros per person.
  • Coubertin Hall: Upholstered box seats await you in the VIP stand. Dine in an elegant setting at fixed tables. While you enjoy your meal, you can watch the action on the pitch through the fully glazed front. But it’s not just the soccer itself that is a highlight in the Coubrtinsaal. You are also likely to meet Hertha legends, the management and some celebrities. Tickets are available for around 715 euros.
  • Boxes: A private football atmosphere is guaranteed in your own box with space for up to 10 people. Experience unforgettable moments with friends, family or work colleagues. You enter the stadium via a separate VIP entrance and are accompanied by personal hostesses during your stay. The price is over 4,000 euros per box.

Interesting facts about the Olympic Stadium

The Olympic Stadium is a cult arena in German soccer. In addition to Hertha’s home matches, the DFB Cup final is also held here every year. Berlin’s Olympic Stadium has also hosted legendary international matches. Probably every football fan remembers the 2006 World Cup final between Italy and France. The final of the European Championships was also held in Berlin in 2024.

The stadium was built 90 years ago to host the XI Olympic Games in Berlin. Originally, the Hertha BSC Stadium could hold 100,000 people. After several renovations, the capacity was reduced to 74,475 seats. During the core refurbishment between 2000 and 2004, 70% of the building fabric was preserved. The best possible preservation was a basic requirement for the renovation for reasons of monument protection. Incidentally, the tartan track shines in blue because of Hertha.

In just a few years, however, only sporadic events could take place in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. This is because Hertha BSC is planning to build its own stadium on the site, which will then be used purely for soccer. But that shouldn’t be a problem for the operators. After all, a number of records have already been set and memorable moments celebrated at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. In 2014, Mario Barth was the live comedian with the largest audience over two days in front of around 116,000 people.

In 2011, the then Pope came to Berlin to hold a holy mass in the stadium. Unforgettable concerts by legends such as the Rolling Stones, Rammstein and Guns N’ Roses have also been held in the Olympiastadion.

How to get to the Hertha BSC stadium

There are a large number of public car parks around the Olympiastadion Berlin, which can also be used during events. The arena can also be easily reached by car via Bundesstraße 5. Parking is possible at the Olympic Place car park, among others.

Alternatively, you can also travel comfortably by public transport. It is only a few minutes’ walk from the Olympia-Stadion underground station to the arena. The U2 underground line will take you to the stadium all year round, even without a car. The Olympiastadion S-Bahn station is also within walking distance. The M49 and 218 bus lines take you to the Flatowallee stop. From there, it is only a short walk to the stadium.
